Urgent attention needed for customers/owners of IBM B2B Integrator (Sterling Integrator) and IBM File Gateway (Sterling File Gateway).
IBM announced a new version of IBM B2B Integrator and IBM File Gateway with planned availability on August 24, 2018.
Within a months’ time, IBM announced End of Support for the following versions of these product versions as of September 30, 2019:
- IBM B2B Integrator V5.2.0, V5.2.3, V5.2.4, V5.2.5
- IBM File Gateway V2.2.0, V2.2.1, V2.2.2, V2.2.3, V2.2.4, V2.2.5
How does this impact your IT service in 2019?
This update is the first significant update for these applications in over a decade. It includes a version upgrade to Java stack; Version 8, which augments many of the security issues that have plagued the information technology world for a few years now (including outdated and insecure SSL certificate usage).
If customers do not take action before September 30, 2019, they risk accommodating insecure applications, both minor and major, in their enterprise. This lack of security will open the door for negative implications as a result. That said, it is very important to obtain/reserve time so that your upgrade will be completed or at a minimum scheduled for an update. The Inteliix Group can help with that issue.
